In Malaga, a brand new neighbourhood is being developed and shaped, targeting Generation Z and called distrito Zeta (Z district). Iberian Yield, together with Otero Group, has set up the real estate company Lagoom Living, which has acquired building rights for around 200 apartments in Distrito Zeta. In the first phase, Lagoom Living will build Zeta Quarter, consisting of 90 rental apartments in the affordable housing sector. The dwellings will consist of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments of approximately 73 sqm and one or two parking spaces per dwelling. The rent is planned to be from around 650 euros per month. The building will also have an outdoor pool, gym and a number of communal and co-working spaces.
Distrito Zeta is projected as a smart city inspired by the 22@ District in Barcelona and Wimbley Park in London, among others. The new district will be able to provide housing for around 10,000 residents. What distinguishes the district as a smart city are the fundamental starting points of sustainability, mobility and technology. The area is located close to the A7, the main road on the Costa del Sol, with good communication links and only about 15 minutes from Malaga airport.
